Using fresh herbs is something so many of my guests and hosts tell me they are afraid of. I can understand that to some degree. Even though we know fresh is always better than processed, we tend to not be familiar with them and so go for what we are familiar with. There is also the fear of how to properly handle them and mince them for recipes which call for them. Having the right tool is always important. I love the herb mill for a few reasons. First it enables me to mince herbs without bruising or crushing them.
Like herbs, we as human beings can be fragile at times. There are times we have to go through transformations in our own lives. However, where possible we would prefer to go through these changes in a way that did not cause us any additional harm.
The Herb Mill is a fast way to add fresh flavor to your favorite recipes. It’s a quick and safe way to mince herbs, both soft and hard. The ceramic ball in the mill gently pushes the herbs into the blades without causing them any harm. The container also has a lid which allows you to store the herbs in the refrigerator after being minced.
More of us are becoming conscious of the food we are eating and what is in it. Adding fresh herbs to a meal is one way to enhance flavor without adding preservatives. We also want to honor our ingredients. The Herb Mill helps us do that as the plastic blade do not over process the herbs. The dial and the container let you choose whether you want to cut over the bowl or pan or store in the container.
When I think about people as herbs, I realize we are much like them. We have those who are like soft herbs and those who are like hard ones. You can tell what kind of herb it is by the stem. Those with stems that are sturdier, like rosemary, oregano, marjoram and thyme are considered hard herbs. Those with tender stems, like basil, parsley, cilantro and tarragon are soft herbs. Some of us are sturdier and can survive slightly more handling. Others of us are like soft herbs and require tender loving care.
Whether you are more like a hard or soft herb, we all need love and support when going through changes in life. We may need something like the ceramic ball to push us through the transformation process and the gentle blade to help us transform and feel good about the process.
